Happy summer everyone!
Social media often invites conversation in ways that can be (but are not always) helpful to a community. If you ever have ideas or concerns related to Edna Libby, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm happy to talk or guide you in the right direction with an answer. Meanwhile, one thing you might consider doing if you are looking to support our schools is to join our very well-established Standish PTO. They are extremely welcoming and have an organized and student-centered approach to everything they do in collaboration with our schools. We are so grateful for their consistent commitment!
Not to wish summer away, but I can't wait to see our families in a few weeks! -Sue Sydnor

We're so excited to announce that Ms. Audrey Leavitt will be joining our school as a grade 3 teacher this fall. Welcome, Ms. Leavitt!
Hello! My name is Audrey Leavitt, and I am excited to be joining the Edna Libby team as a 3rd grade teacher! I grew up in Saint George, Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine. I have had the opportunity to work with students across a variety of grade levels, which has strengthened my passion for creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
I recently moved to Gorham, Maine, where I live with my fiancé, and I am excited to become part of the community. In my free time, I enjoy singing and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to getting to know my students and their families and am thrilled to continue my teaching career at Edna Libby. Here's to a wonderful school year!

I'm so excited to introduce Sarah Bell to our staff as a building ed tech for the upcoming school year. Our ed techs are so valuable in our community, working directly with students throughout the day, in and out of classrooms. Welcome, Sarah!
Hi, my name is Sarah Bell. I am so excited to be a part of the school community this year! I have always loved working with children and have been doing so since I was 15 years old. It has been such a rewarding experience, and I enjoy helping children learn, grow, and have fun every day. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my family and friends. Some of my favorite activities include playing pickleball, soccer, tennis, snowboarding, and going to the beach. I look forward to getting to know all of the students and families and making this a wonderful school year together!

We are so excited to introduce our new School Counselor, Mr. Alex Smith! Mr. Smith spent a day with us this spring and got a glimpse of a day in the life of a Little Scot, meeting our staff and many students along the way. We can't wait for your children to get to know Mr. Smith this fall!
Hello, my name is Alex Smith and this will be my first year as a school counselor! I graduated from Husson University with my Master’s in School Counseling in May of 2026 and I am very excited to start this year at Edna Libby. I currently live in Old Orchard Beach with my fiancé Emily and my cat Bear. When I am not at school I love to be at the beach, watch baseball, and spend time with my family. I am looking forward to being in this community and getting started!

EDNAPALOOZA was a big hit again this year! We are so appreciative of the MANY MANY volunteer family members and Key Club members who came to Edna to help out with our big day today. Thanks to Websters Service Center for helping out with our t-shirts, and to the incredible Standish PTO, who provided our whole school with treats this afternoon! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
